John 12:40-42

Christian Standard Bible

⁴⁰He has blinded^(A) their eyes
and hardened their hearts,^(B)
so that they would not see with their eyes
or understand with their hearts,
and turn,^(C)
and I would heal them.^[a]^(D)

⁴¹Isaiah said these things because^[b] he saw his glory^(E) and spoke about him.

⁴²Nevertheless, many did believe in him even among the rulers,^(F) but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, so that they would not be banned from the synagogue.
